Hair dilemma

I have a hairdressing appointment this afternoon. It needs cutting anyway, and I'm probably going to get it dyed, too. The original intention was to go back to scarlet, but I'm surprised to find that I rather like my current approximately-natural dark brown, even though I've spent the last ten years avoiding it, and only returned to it because my wedding dress was red and I was worried about clashing. But I also remember how much I loved having scarlet hair. And having just given people a reason to accuse me of being sensible and grownup, I like the idea of proving that I'm not ;-)

ETA: I should state that I don't need to have sensible-coloured hair for work purposes. In case that wasn't already obvious ;-)

Whilst the direction of my vote was thoroughly predictable, I have a further comment: Possibly the reason you like it is because there's something to be said for variety. Accordingly, the winning option might be to leave it as it is for now, but change it back to some shade of Fraggle at some future point when the mood takes you ?

Oooh, torn. You see I think the bright red was cool but I quite like the dark brown. So maybe brown for a bit or with auburn highlights.

Tricky. I plumped for the cop-out of 'Other: any of the above.'. Partly because bright red suited you, dark brown suits you, and I imagine the middle option triplet would also suit you.

I agree with bateleur about variety though, and his conclusion.

Hmm, I don't know how much this is likely to influence you but I must also dye my hair and on the same scale I'm leaning towards dark brown. We could end up looking alike again...

I, too, obviously like the red, but was surprised by how much I thought your natural colours of hair suited you. I'd say, if you like the brown, keep it a bit longer, because it'll be harder to get back to brown once you've dyed it again.

Or use semi-perm.

Shall I put orange on mine again (or as it's actually called, pre-lightener, but has the effect of sending my hair an unusual combination of blonde, orange, brown and black.)

the red was extremely charming, but I think I like the brown -- it goes very well with your coloring, especially your eyes and eyebrows.

if the points is to have mad hair, why not have it brown but add a few braids with beads, feathers, crystals, etc?

it's strange voting on this when i've never actually met you or seen a picture... but i picked auburn, as it seems a happy medium, and would be easy to go back to either extreme.

if you want extremes, though, i vote for the scarlet. change is good, but hot damn! fun hair!
