Strange brain functions part 2

Although I don't wake up with songs I've never heard, I did dream last night about a word I'm not aware of having encountered previously, and which I don't know the meaning of. It may not even be a word, and my imperfect recollection of it isn't really helping me find out.

The word is something like 'pavotchka'. I'm fairly certain it started with a P, and it definitely contained the 'tchka' sound. I think it was an adjective. Any thoughts?

Last time a name appeared in my head without me knowing what it meant, some investigation proved it to be a little-used name for the Devil - ho hum! *grins*

No idea on that one though - my knowledged of slavic (does that include russian? Well, anyway, I don't know Russian either :) languages is distinctly lacking...
