Nah, he's seen the fabric (and he was with me when I bought the pattern, so it's mostly a formality that he's not seeing it).

It's that slightly bobbly sort of silk, scarlet-shot-with-purple, and it shimmers and looks different colours at different angles. It's possibly the most beautiful fabric I've ever seen :-)
