Sad thought
Oct. 26th, 2005 04:22 pmWhile killing time waiting for a meeting to start this morning, I wandered into the campus bookshop, foolishly telling myself that I wouldn't buy books, I'd just wander around a bit. I was prepared for the assaults from fiction, and I had my ready excuses, but I didn't expect to look at the non-fiction, and didn't expect to need excuses (most of the non-fiction, unsurprisingly, relates directly to various course reading lists and is therefore not terribly interesting to the casual browser). So the Bill Hicks book lurking in the middle of the fiction display section took me by surprise, and I succumbed.
I haven't even finished the foreword yet, but I'm already struck by how much I want to hear what he'd have said about the twenty-first century :-(
