I don't much care about Harry Potter. I read the first four; they were OK. I gave up on the fifth 'cos it wasn't, and I'm not planning to read the sixth. The films are good fun, though.

What I do like is stuff in the style of other stuff. And I'm rather fond of the Powerpuff girls, so I love [livejournal.com profile] potterpuffs, which I've only just discovered. Of course, judging by the length of the user's flist, I'm probably the last person to notice, but just in case any of you are even more behind the times than I am (and cos I know there's at least one HP fan on my flist), I'm sharing. Enjoy ;-)

(Also, GIP. I made this with the Powerpuff girl generator ages ago, and it ended up being part of the inspiration behind my Patchwork character, Abigail.)

Believe it or not, this entry is absolutely nothing to do with my academic faffing, or with mysterious playing cards and puzzles ;-)

To the point! On the one hand, we have:

  • a sensible, loving mother called Joyce who's more glamourous than TV mums are usually allowed to be
  • an absentee father with a dumb name (Hank) and no real role in the story
  • their older daughter who works with the dead
  • her annoying brat of a little sister who's obviously going to be gorgeous as soon as she's allowed to be, and has difficulty adjusting to her sister's lifestyle

On the other hand, we have:

  • a sensible, loving mother called Joyce who's more glamourous than TV mums are usually allowed to be
  • an absentee father with a dumb name (Clancy) and no real role in the story
  • their older daughter who works with the dead
  • her annoying brat of a little sister who's obviously going to be gorgeous as soon as she's allowed to be, and has difficulty adjusting to her sister's lifestyle

Separated at birth, or what? Yeah, OK, calling Joy sensible is a bit of a push, and George doesn't exactly have a "lifestyle" as far as Reggie is concerned, but still.

Unfortunately, I can't tell if this is crazy talk that doesn't stand up to any kind of scrutiny, or so bloody obvious that everyone else noticed ages ago. Next issue: Rube=Giles! Mason=Xander! Daisy/Roxy=Willow! Umm, maybe not that last one.

I may be missing the release of Serenity in the States by about a fortnight, but at least I have a River icon. It's a tiny consolation.

I'm trying to drag myself out of the 'it's cold and dark and I don't want to move any further than the distance between my sofa and my bed' mood I've been in for what feels like forever. And - who'd've thought it? - having fun turns out to be, well, fun!

Oh, so many fun things I've done in the last couple of days! )

Have you ever been watching a Batman cartoon and thought the Joker's voice sounded a bit familiar? Well, it should sound familiar... )

Of course, everyone but me and [livejournal.com profile] smiorgan probably already knew this. In which case - damn you all. Why don't you tell me these things?
