I don't much care about Harry Potter. I read the first four; they were OK. I gave up on the fifth 'cos it wasn't, and I'm not planning to read the sixth. The films are good fun, though.

What I do like is stuff in the style of other stuff. And I'm rather fond of the Powerpuff girls, so I love [livejournal.com profile] potterpuffs, which I've only just discovered. Of course, judging by the length of the user's flist, I'm probably the last person to notice, but just in case any of you are even more behind the times than I am (and cos I know there's at least one HP fan on my flist), I'm sharing. Enjoy ;-)

(Also, GIP. I made this with the Powerpuff girl generator ages ago, and it ended up being part of the inspiration behind my Patchwork character, Abigail.)

I'm in exactly the same position... Although I'm rather looking forward to the release of the new book since it will keep [livejournal.com profile] lathany happily out of trouble for a few hours.

I persevered with the 5th, and was glad to have finished it, but I'll hold off on the new one until someone I trust tells me it's worth reading.

I only got through the first one. I enjoyed it whilst reading it, but then I was left with a sort of empty feeling afterwards. I thought about it, and realised they were quite badly/prosaicly written, and that I just didn't care about any of the characters. Hell, the film version even managed to make Alan Rickman ming.

NOOOO. Alan Rickman never mings. Wash your mouth out with soap young lady.

But he did in Potter! Another reason to hate the evil thing. I mean, in every other thing I've ever seen him do, could melt me at 20 paces. But in Potter? I just wouldn't. Get a hairwash, &c! ;-)

Mmmm dirty Alan Rickman. I just can't help it. Still best in Die Hard though

How is it possible to prefer that to Robin Hood: Prince of Theives?

I really rather liked him as Ed in January Man. And then there was Quigley Down Under. Not only do you get Alan Rickman dressed as a gentleman cowboy, but there's Tom Selleck, too.
