In my interests list (and presumably those of many other people with the relevant interests), 'being barefoot' ends up next to 'boots'.
I don't think they're mutually exclusive: there are times when you have to wear something on your feet, and that something should be boots, with very few exceptions. The rest of the time, being barefoot is obviously better. I don't understand people who get up in the morning, get dressed, and put on shoes, even when they're going to be in their own house for at least the next few hours. It's alien.
(Why is there no mood for 'puzzled' or 'perplexed'? I know I can enter another one, but why would I want to miss the chance to have a small sweet cat??
