And I'm stealing his formatting cos it's good.

Metame: What's the most beautiful thing in nature?
Triskellian: the sea, I think. For all it contains, and all we still don't know about it, and all the myths it spawned, and how it feels alive.

Metame: Why is purple your favourite colour?
Triskellian: the first time I remember it being my favourite colour is when it was always the last colour to run out in my felt tipped pen sets as a small child. I've no idea why it was last, when I liked it so much, but I was always pleased to find a pen still working after most of the others had died. That's not a reason, though. I could - at a push - come up with positive adjectives to describe it, but I'm not convinced how much such things apply to colours, and that still wouldn't adequately describe why I like it. So I don't think I can answer the question, sorry.

Metame: Do you anthropomorphise things? Do you draw the line at cats? cars? ever?
Triskellian:I do anthropomorphise things. Definitely cats and dogs, sometimes cars and computers and other machines that seem to behave in inexplicable ways. That's pretty much where the line is, though.

Metame: What's the most moving book you've ever read?
Triskellian: Probably Wild Swans. I'm pretty soft about books - lots of fiction makes me cry, too, but some of this is horrific. It's a part of history I was never taught, it overlaps with my lifetime, and it took me completely by surprise.

Metame: What's been the biggest ever change in your life (with hindsight allowed)?
Triskellian: Depends if you mean immediate change, or lasting change. Biggest immediate change was redundancy - suddenly not being sure if we were going to have enough money to live on, with no idea how long it would last, and then having to do a job that made me so miserable I eventually quit without having another to go to.

Biggest lasting change, with hindsight, was probably moving to Luton at the age of three. We'd previously been near Birmingham, near my dad's family and friends, and we knew no one in Luton. I expect my childhood would have been very different if we'd stayed. Similarly, the birth of my brother probably had rather an impact ;-)
