So, I had an entry percolating in my brain about my course this term semester ('Communication and Technology'), and all of the things it's teaching me that I already know (I learnt how to make a web page a couple of weeks ago), and how much I'm looking forward to using a virtual learning environment, and the possibility of using LJ as subject matter for an essay. And then there's the CSS that is eating my life, entering my dreams, and tying my brain in knots (in an enjoyable way) (see [livejournal.com profile] secretrebel's recent post).

But what's currently foremost in my brain is that I was in a car accident a couple of hours ago. All damage was to cars, not people; the other person admitted it was her fault (and I hope she continues to do so when talking to her insurance company), and my car is probably still driveable. But I'm shaky and lacking concentration even more than usual, and hoping that my various weekend plans* aren't all completely wrecked by either my unwillingness to drive, or the state of the car.

(*[livejournal.com profile] lathany, I've emailed you.)

PS: new icon! Apparently all the cool kids have shoe icons these days. And I keep making shoe comments, and bemoaning the lack of a relevant icon, so I made this last night in between lecturing [livejournal.com profile] secretrebel about CSS.

Gyagh!

Sympathy. The hassle of car accidentness is almost as bad as having the damn' accident in the first place.

Hopefully your car is both driveable and legal...

Deep sympathy! Car crunches are horrible even when no-one gets hurt.

You'll feel fine in a few days - I did after my accident. Although, I did have a strong antipathic reaction to the sound of crushing metal for a few weeks afterwards - which was annoying, because it's a pretty common sound in 'puter games ;-)

I've emailed you back!

A good thing surrounded by bad stuff. Hope you recover from the shock soon.

I need you to educate me about the finer points of CSS sometime. Currently my CSS use is still at the cave painting and hunting mammoths stage.

while (HTML contains any information at all that could conceivably be used to render the page onto a screen in the way you want it to) {
read more CSS websites;
remove information from HTML;
}

Round about HTML v.9.0 or so, it will reach the point where the only legal elements are html, head, meta and div.

Cripes - glad you're hale if not exactly hearty. Is your car being looked at by somebody in overalls as we speak?

Meep!

Car accidents are _horrible_ even when not your fault and damage done only to unfeeling objects, so I'm not surprised you're shaken up by it. Take it easy (it's Friday after all!), but don't get too afraid to drive again soon...

*hugs*
Bec (over-compensating for no shoe icon).

[livejournal.com profile] skorpionuk is right.

And much sympathy to my favourite lj user with the name [livejournal.com profile] triskellian for the autoevil incident. I'm glad you're ok!

Sorry to hear this - but glad you're okay, if feeling a bit shaky:-) The speed and violence of car accidents often take a little while to get over, I think...

Hope you are OK??????? and not still so shaken up??

Even though only cars were damaged, it's still very scary - we tend to think of our cars as a safe little world of our own, so when it gets invaded like that it's scary and reminds us that it's not as sae as we might think.

Any news on the car yet?
