triskellian: (make my own fun)
[personal profile] triskellian
Sometime last month, when I was deeply immersed in essay-writing, [livejournal.com profile] bluedevi introduced me to Geoffrey Chaucer's blog, which is much more fun to read than anything I was reading for academic purposes.

In his most recent entry, he's answering problem-page-type questions, producing this gem (in response to a question about changing taps on a bath):

Oon man cardeth the woole, oon man spinneth the woole, and an oothir dyeth the woole a fayre colour. Oon man ys skillede yn the husbandrie of beestes, an othir yn the preparacioun of java-basid onlyne gamblynge interfaces, and yet an othir in the produccioun of artificiale guacamole flavour for potato crispes.

Naturally, there's a syndicated LJ feed: [livejournal.com profile] chaucerhathblog.

Ha! But I have to ask (and feel like an internet-illiterate schmuck for it), what does "a syndicated LJ feed" mean?

Oh! Well, I will keep that in mind, if I find something outside of LiveJournal that's worth it. At least now I'm not an internet-illiterate shmuck.:-)

I looked at the Chaucer 'blog, and I just don't think I could handle reading it all the time. It's funny, but Middle English is something I can handle from one writer at a time. Maybe if I ever finish Malory.

I have found one that doesn't seem to be on the list. Would you create it for me, please? The url is http://aftermathblog.wordpress.com/feed/. Thanks Cheers!

I keep thinking that you've been awfully absent from Patchwork, but then I remember that Abigail is in the Rag and Bone Shop, and I can't see that.:-( I've missed you!

Thank you!

Yep, "cheers" is definitely a Britishism.:-)

I'm looking forward to seeing what our colorful heroine does next.
