Chaucer hath a blog
May. 11th, 2006 10:24 amSometime last month, when I was deeply immersed in essay-writing,
bluedevi introduced me to Geoffrey Chaucer's blog, which is much more fun to read than anything I was reading for academic purposes.
In his most recent entry, he's answering problem-page-type questions, producing this gem (in response to a question about changing taps on a bath):
Oon man cardeth the woole, oon man spinneth the woole, and an oothir dyeth the woole a fayre colour. Oon man ys skillede yn the husbandrie of beestes, an othir yn the preparacioun of java-basid onlyne gamblynge interfaces, and yet an othir in the produccioun of artificiale guacamole flavour for potato crispes.
Naturally, there's a syndicated LJ feed:

Date: 2006-05-16 09:50 pm (UTC)I looked at the Chaucer 'blog, and I just don't think I could handle reading it all the time. It's funny, but Middle English is something I can handle from one writer at a time. Maybe if I ever finish Malory.

Date: 2006-06-02 03:11 pm (UTC)ThanksCheers!I keep thinking that you've been awfully absent from Patchwork, but then I remember that Abigail is in the Rag and Bone Shop, and I can't see that.:-( I've missed you!

Date: 2006-06-02 06:22 pm (UTC)We're about to leave the Rag and Bone Shop any second now (in fact, that's what I'm doing after checking LJ), so Abigail and co will reappear to public view, with a new quest and everything. Well, sort of a new quest ;-)
(Is "cheers" for "thanks" a Britishism?)

I'm looking forward to seeing what our colorful heroine does next.
