One day last week, I spent part of my bike ride home being rained on. It wasn't that cold, and I don't really mind light rain, so I didn't bother stopping to get out my waterproof. The next day, I woke up all sneezy and sniffly (yes, even more so than usual).

Yesterday, I went to bed with wet hair (I never actively dry my hair, but I usually wash it in the morning), and this morning, same thing: even more sneezy and sniffly than usual. Gah.

In other news, I'm wondering how long it's possible to be in the office with blatantly silly-coloured hair before someone remarks on it. Perhaps they think it's a terrible error and they're doing me a kindness by ignoring it...

Silly as in "oops, dyeing error" or silly as in "I love it, but it's not remotely natural looking"?

Bit of both ;-) The error is minor, and easily fixable if I decide I want to/can be bothered. And I do love it, and it's not remotely natural looking. In fact, a bit of my brain has been chanelling you and saying "fraggle" every time I look at it :-)

Oooh, but what blatantly silly color is it?

If it's predominantly women in the office, I'd say they're doing you a kindness. If it's predominantly men, I'd say they haven't noticed, because one of them would certainly have commented, but they generally don't notice.

It's mostly red, with some purple stripes. The error I referred to above is that the purple dye didn't adequately warn me that it has bleaching effects*, so I didn't allow for them, and the tops of the stripes are very, very pale. However, I now have some purple non-bleaching dye to fix the roots, so all is well.

*Yes, it says it contains peroxide, but most hairdye does without doing the heat-activated bleach thing that leaves the roots much lighter than the rest.

It turns out the women in the office hadn't actually looked at me at the point I wrote that. They did comment later, more-or-less favourably.

Red as the icon suggests? Or is there a movement towards purple in progress?

It took an hour before someone new came into the office and noticed, and then my officemates actually looked at me and realised :-)

It's red with purple stripes. And as I type there's more purple dye on the pale root sections I referred to above.
