I'm reading the Television Without Pity recap for this week's Buffy episode, 'First Date', and I'm having another of those feelings that everyone else seems to have seen a different show*

Why? We're looking at the scene where Willow receives Xander's text message. It's in code, but Willow can't remember whether it's the code for 'I got lucky, don't call me' or 'my date's evil, save me'. The people at TWoP are having a problem with when Xander had a chance to send the message. Did Demonchick knock him out and drive him to the high school and he briefly regain consciousness en route somewhere?

No! Of course he didn't! He meant to say 'I got lucky', and it's just, well, luck, that Willow's misunderstanding saves him. Demonchick's not going to let him send a text once he knows he's attracted yet another evil woman, so he only gets a chance to text during the time he thinks he's got lucky.

*Last seen at the end of series six - 'Ooh, it's obvious that Spike's getting his chip removed. He said so, y'know'. Well, no, he didn't. Not once. We were checking. We noticed the script wanting us to believe he was getting his chip removed, and we looked out for them actually telling us, and they didn't, so it seemed pretty obvious what he was doing was getting his soul back.
