I got in from work, turned on the TV in search of the Simpsons, or some other similar entertainment, and happened across a programme called Your face or mine?. It's car crash viewing.

There's a couple in the TV studio, and they win money by accurately predicting whether the audience will think one of them is better looking than someone else. The section I saw started with a series of photos to compare to each of them, then progressed to a series of real people - mostly friends and exes of the couple ('So, Ben, which do you think is better looking, your girlfriend or your ex?'), and finally, the couple had to predict which of the two of them the audience would think was better looking.

So, um, yeah, I'm back in this country, and will soon try to talk about something more interesting, or at least an account of the highlights of the trip (having our passports confiscated, a French vampire, sunburn, andouilettes), but couldn't resist sharing that with you in the meantime.

That program is made watchable by one thing. The male host (no idea of name) has a wonderfully sarcastic sense of humour. He is the only good thing about the show though. Actually that and watching some people's real clueless opinion of themselves. :)

Actually I quite like that show. The squirming, evasive way that people try to avoid the truth always annoys me and watching them punished for it in front of an audience of thousands (millions?) is oddly relaxing.

Me too - a bold and barefaced lie is clearly the way forward.
