Serves me right for using an unsupported mail client mutter mutter mutter.
Anyway. Mozilla has spontaneously decided to start ignoring email attachments. On messages received before it took this decision, it still shows the paperclip icon in the message list window, but the attachments themselves no longer appear in preview pane. On messages received since, there's no sign at all of them containing attachments.
When I actually open a messages (of any vintage), the window is completely empty and doesn't even show the message contents (which do appear in preview).
Anyone got any thoughts?

Date: 2003-06-26 02:10 am (UTC)I'm currently having 'discussions' with my copy of Mozilla about fonts.

Date: 2003-06-26 02:19 am (UTC)* Reasonable support for multiple mail accounts, tabbed browsing, and killing popups. Although I'm not sure about the last one, cos I don't know which sites use them, cos I haven't seen one for so long.

Date: 2003-06-26 04:14 am (UTC)Alternatively the windows version of sylpheed/claws works well enough by importing mbox to mh format, and there should be other email clients that handle the mbox format.
I've had no problems at all with version 1.3 of Moz on Win98.

Date: 2003-06-26 02:46 am (UTC)AFAIK there isn't any explicit virus protection in (at least the standard version of) Mozilla - it's certainly not something I've ever come across.

Date: 2003-06-26 03:14 am (UTC)What I meant, though, was not any particular release (1.3 is the one I upgraded to this morning, I think), but the standard configuration, meaning the only messing about with it that I've done is changing stuff in preferences.
Unsupported mail client
Which was less competent than Pine, even when it was introduced, which gives you a general feeling of how inadequate it's been ever since...

Date: 2003-06-26 02:58 am (UTC)Anyway, don't make me bitch about my workplace, or I'll have to friends-lock, or at least, if you're going to make me bitch about my workplace, pick a post that's already friends-locked to do it in ;-)
Attachments
There was a bug in 1.3a in which attachments might not be displayed if there were 2 or more, but that seems unlikely.
Also, Mozilla has a variable setting for how attachments are displayed. If you've selected "inline" this might cause odd effects.
But mostly it all sound very odd.

Date: 2003-06-26 06:40 am (UTC)My current theory is that my computer is just strange. It spent all of yesterday crashing at random, so I'm probably unfairly maligning Mozilla. I might have a go at uninstalling it and reinstalling it tomorrow, and see if that works. Otherwise, I'm just going to admit defeat and use Netscape ;-(
