Now I'm cranky
Nov. 10th, 2003 09:26 amThe thin diguise for this GIP is that I'm
smiorganless this week, and as such, I slept badly (in 'I'll just doze until he comes to bed' mode, which is all very well if he's likely to be coming to bed in, say, the next hour or two, but not much use if it'll be almost a week until he comes to bed), and then left my lunch/breakfast at home.
But, yes, it's basically a GIP ;-)

Date: 2003-11-10 02:55 am (UTC)It's pretty sunny here, too. But also pretty cold. Although you're missing the most glorious autumn *ever*.

Date: 2003-11-10 03:00 am (UTC)It's got pretty colours I suppose. Spring in South Africa, things are flowering and breeding and getting warmer.
Logging off now to go and buy a Thermarest and go visit Robben island and then watch Pirates of the C... because
I'm somewhere with a cinema and everything.

Re: GIC
Date: 2003-11-11 02:21 am (UTC)PotC was as great as I'd epected ever since seeing those first posters and JD's look. As a weird probably-only-I-thought-this thing, I found his drunken looks occasionally really reminiscent of Withnail's - and there was a moment where he said 'we're catching up' when it really should have been 'making time'...
But I digress from the blatant point of this post - It really definitely is me, not someone pretending to be me, and who'd bother anyway?
R.. (you can tell it's me, even though the o's are really tiny in this font)

All very well, except that some other Rs, who shall remain nameless ;-) habitually put one fullstop after their initial, and have been known to make typos so that it's two...

Date: 2003-11-11 02:40 am (UTC)While rafting on the Zambezi it transpired the guy in the safety kayak had the same first name as me - first time I've met one of us in ages... - I'm even losing that uniqueness, dissolving in a sea of nomenclature, and solution of initials.
PS read Oryx & Crake in Namibia - entertaining but lacking something, imho. Did you review it ever?
PPS have also seen both Oryx and Crake here... and eaten the former.
Re: GIC
Date: 2003-11-11 02:50 am (UTC)I only ish-reviewed O&C: http://www.livejournal.com/users/triskellian/50775.html. I did like it, of course, but it's not as good as her best stuff, which shouldn't really be surprising because it's such a departure.
Annoyingly, I can remember what a crake is, but not what an oryx is. Remind me?
