I just showed a colleague that there's a better way of centring text in Word than with spaces.

*winces*

That reminds me - after being repeatedly phoned by the dept. secretary at Newcastle to dictate useful URL's, often letter by letter, I suggested that she might want to bookmark them (shock: Newcastle actually encouraged us to use Netscape). I then wandered to the other side of campus to show her how to achive theis miraculous feat of the blindingly obvious. Just as I finished, one of the senior lecturers walked in, and having had the concept of 'bookmarks' explained to them, decided I was the ideal person to run a 2 day workshop on 'bookmarking for the entire dept......

[and they wonder why I resigned]

Trust me, I have more than my fair share of blonde moments ; ) which is proven by the fact that it took about six attempts to spell that senetence correctly!

I can (just) remember the first time someone introduced me to bookmarks.

I asked them if there was some way to store the address of the page I had just found and was quite surprised at how simple it was.

That sort of thing is often amusing.
One day, I'll have to tell the tale of the Genespring developer and the Enlightenment session.
