The answers
Questions where the correct answer got the highest number of votes are marked with an *
- *I like arthouse films; she doesn't
- *We both like high school films
- *Neither of us like horror films
- *Although we both like Jane Austen, she's not either of our favourite
- *Margaret Atwood is my favourite, although
secretrebel likes her too
- *I like Ian McEwan, but he's not my favourite; she doesn't like him much at all
- *Ursula Le Guin is
secretrebel's favourite; I like her too, but not as much
- *We both read comics/graphic novels
- A bit of a red herring... Most people thought it was
secretrebel who reads the Angel fanfic. She reads much more fanfic than me, but doesn't read Angel; I do.
- *She reads HP fanfic
- She's seen Janet Jackson in concert
- Although I like the Divine Comedy much more than
secretrebel does, she's seen them live and I haven't... Or so I thought.
smiorgan has just reminded me that I did see them live, but they were so rubbish I've blanked it out ;-)
- *
secretrebel, on the other hand, really hasn't seen the Offspring, despite liking them more than I do. I have seen them.
- *She likes strategic board games; I don't much
- ...and I like Guillotine but she doesn't (although she will play it)
- We both dislike yellow
- *Purple's my favourite colour
- *Her favourite colour is green
- Although we both wear a lot of black, it's neither of our favourite colour
- No one bought a purple skirt
- I bought a white one
- *and she bought a green one
- I wear hats in summer
- *and she wears them in winter
- *She wears socks indoors
- *Neither of us wear shoes indoors
- *I go barefoot as much as possible
- *She's a veggie
- I've dated a veggie
- *I eat fish. Quite a few people said they thought
secretebel ate fish and was a vegetarian, which should probably prompt some sort of 'what do you think vegetarian means anyway?' rant
- *Neither of us like tuna (well, actually, I do like real tuna steaks, so perhaps the question should have included the word 'tinned')...
- ...or eggs (I'll eat them as a sort of foil for cheese: cheese omlette, cheesy scrambled eggs, etc, and I quite like the yolk, although I really don't like egg white; she only eats them as an invisible ingredient)
- *She hates cucumber
- and I hate lettuce
- *I won't eat Doritos (nasty things ;-)
- But neither of us won't eat prawn cocktail crisps (they're yummy)
- I was a guide (briefly)
- ...and a Sea Cadet
- We both did gymnastics
- Only I was on a badminton team (although she plays badminton now, and I don't)
- And the netball team was just me, too
- *She went to private secondary school
- ...but we both went to state secondary schools (she transferred halfway through) (this was the question no one got right)
- *She's part Indian
- My mother was educated by nuns
- *Neither of us played the guitar
- *...but I played the clarinet
- She thought up the idea for the quiz (it's in my LJ 'cos she doesn't have a paid account)
- But it was me who had a job involving making up quiz questions (it was only a tiny part of the job)
- *I'm ticklish (she claims to have taught herself not to be)
- She's religious
- *I wear nail varnish (much less than I used to, but I was wearing it at the time of the quiz's invention).
frax, I didn't penalise you for believing me when I said I didn't any more ;-)
- We both always wear the same earrings
- *She always wears the same bracelets
- *I have a driving licence (this is the question everyone got right)
- *We both own our own houses (well, our mortgage companies do, but you know what I mean)
- Neither of us have a first aid certificate
- We've both been self-employed. She still is, and I was for a deeply depressing three months before starting my current job.
- This was kind of a trick question: we both have a marriage plan, and fortunately, the people with whom we have them both got this question right ;-)
- *We both want to move to Cornwall, after spending a week there recently
- She usually wears a watch (I never do)
- *I always wear a necklace
- And I'm afraid it's Cobweb (mine) who's the biggest of the four cats concerned
The scoring system
- Correct answer: 2 points
- Answering one of us when the answer is 'both': 1 point
- Answering one of us when the answer is the other: -1 points (credit to
bateleur, via
lathany, for that suggestion ;-)
- Other answers: 0 points
I did briefly consider awarding 1 point for an answer of 'both' when the correct answer was one of us, but since the aim is to distinguish between us, I discarded the idea ;-)

In fact if you remove the evil trick questions (almost every one of which I fell for) I reckon the average score would be almost 1 per question.

OFFICIAL PROTEST
Date: 2004-06-16 12:28 pm (UTC)I demand that you update it, and give me the credit due... after all, I got know that you hate lettuce, and I got question 45 right...
Re: OFFICIAL PROTEST
Date: 2004-06-16 12:35 pm (UTC)And entering a competition after the results have been published hardly counts, even though I do trust that you didn't look at them before answering ;-)
(I asked question 45 partly for you - you're the only person I expected to know the answer, rather than merely guess correctly ;-)
